The year is 20XX.
Every single organism on Earth has been wiped out by a deadly disease that could not be cured. Not a single thing was living anymore...except for a group of scientists, squids, and over 9000 boys and girls who survived the disease. Every parent lost their lives, making all the kids orphans. The scientists said the disease was still outside everywhere in the atmosphere, so they were forced to stay inside a large secret lab called the Squid Research Lab that was safeguarded from the outside world.
A day later, the scientists sampled some ink from the squids and put secret colorful chemicals in the ink. The only colors the scientists had were turquoise, lime green, purple, pink, orange, and blue. They put the colorful ink in six water guns that some of the boys brought with them into the lab so the kids wouldn't be bored. "Come out kiddies," said one of the scientists. All the kids came out of the play room and into the lab. The scientists grabbed six of the kids and locked their arms and legs in chains. "What are you doing to us?" asked one girl.
"Oh, nothing. We have made these water guns extra fun for all of you," one scientist said. Six of the scientists aimed the water guns at the kids and fired colorful ink at them. "Hey, that's not nice!" one boy said. "Arghh, my body feels like it's changing!" one girl said. They felt half of their humanity vanish before their very eyes. The six kids felt their teeth change to that of a squid and their ears pointed out. Their hair completely changed too. The girl's hair became two long tentacles while the boy's hair had one small tentacle held up by a ring.
The other 8,994 kids gasped. Six of the survivors had become half-human, half-squid hybrids. "What did you just do to us? Change us back!" one girl said. "I'm sorry, but we have to change all of you into these creatures so you could survive outside of this lab," said Bill, one of the scientists. The rest of the scientists duplicated the water guns so all the kids could have one each. The scientists aimed their water guns at six groups of kids. They fired large blasts of ink, transforming every kid into squid kids.
"Now, what should we call these squid kids?" one scientist asked Bill. "Hmmm....let's call them 'Inklings'," Bill said. The kids looked at their new bodies. "This new life might not be bad after all," one girl said. "Alright! Let's go outside and see the light of day again!" one boy said. The kids opened the door to the outside world and ran free without worrying about the disease.
Over the years, the Inklings had built their own city called "Inkopolis", invented their own language (even though they rarely speak it), and engaged in friendly water gun fights, which they called "turf wars". However, one Inkling was completely different from the others. His name is Kenneth, and he is a blue-haired Inkling who has much more energy than the other Inklings. He barely used weapons too, which meant he barely got to play with his friends in turf wars. One day, Kenneth found a mysterious radar along with a ball that had a red star on it.
"Is this a real Dragon Ball?" asked Kenneth. Stan, one of Kenneth's friends, appeared behind him. "There are rumors spreading around Inkopolis that whenever seven of these balls are found, a kraken will appear and grant the Inkling who found them one wish before spreading to seven other parts of the city. That's why we call them 'Kraken Balls' and not 'Dragon Balls'," said Stan. "Okay! I'll see if I could find the rest of these and get my wish," said Kenneth.
Kenneth immediately started looking for the Kraken Balls with the Kraken Radar. One by one, finding them was a snap for Kenneth. A few hours later, Kenneth put all seven Kraken Balls together to summon the kraken. "Kraken God, by your name I summon you!" said Kenneth. A flash of light beamed upwards as the sky turned dark green. All the other Inklings stopped what they were doing as the light became a dragon-like kraken. "I am the Kraken God. I shall grant you any wish. Now, speak!" said the Kraken God.
"It's not a myth...I just summoned a legendary being," said Kenneth. A large crowd of Inklings appeared around Kenneth and the Kraken God. "I wish to be the strongest Inkling that ever lived!" said Kenneth. "Very well," said the Kraken God. His eyes glowed and Kenneth saw a yellow ki aura appear around him. "I bid you farewell," said the Kraken God. The Kraken God vanished and the Kraken Balls spread throughout the city. "Wow, the Kraken Balls aren't a myth after all," one Inkling girl said.
Meanwhile, another group of beings saw Kenneth from a security camera. They were the Octolings, an octopus-like group of humanoids. They were jealous that they never got a wish from the Kraken Balls. "Damn it," Red, a tyrant and the leader of the Octolings said. "If we found the Kraken Balls, we could wish to be more powerful than that squid kid who got his wish!" "Let's find those balls right now," one of Red's minions said. "That's impossible unless we have a radar or something," said Red. "We're all hackers, so we could locate the Kraken Balls easily," another one of Red's minions said. "Alright girls, let's go find those Kraken Balls and teach that squid kid a lesson!" said Red.
Meanwhile in Inkopolis, Kenneth tought himself how to fly, dodge, and attack whenever there's trouble. The Octolings broke a barrier and pulled out their weapons. "Alright you, tell us where the Kraken Balls are or else you will die!" said Red. "We don't know who you are, so go back to where you came from!" said Kenneth. "FIRE!!!" shouted Red. "Everyone, get back! I'll take care of this myself!" said Kenneth to the other Inklings. The Octolings opened fire on Kenneth, but he dodged their ink without getting hit.
"How the hell could he dodge our ink like that?" asked Red. Kenneth was floating above the Octolings and flew towards them. They were about to fire, but Kenneth swooped in and punched and kicked the Octolings quickly, wounding them all except for Red. "You're not getting away with this!" one of Red's minions said. "Oh yes I am," said Kenneth. He put his hands together to form a bright ball of ink. "Ka...me...ha...me...HAAAAAAAA!!!" shouted Kenneth. He extended his arms and opened his hands, releasing a powerful beam of blue ink from his hands.
Most of Red's minions were killed by the blast. "No...how could I miss her?" asked Kenneth. "If you think that you and your friends could defeat me, you're sadly mistaken!" said Red. She made Kenneth's friend Stan hover above the ground. "I hope you aren't afraid of heights," said Red. She made Stan go higher into the sky. "No! Don't hurt him!" shouted Kenneth. Red bent her fingers, almost making a fist. "Kenneth!! AAAGH!" shouted Stan.
Stan bursted into a puddle of purple ink. Red had killed Kenneth's best friend. "No....I...will make you suffer!" said Kenneth, who had never been so angry before. There was lightning in the air as the ground started to crumble beneath Kenneth's feet. "ARRRRRGH!!!" shouted Kenneth as loud as he could. All of the Inklings saw Kenneth now had a yellow ki aura, black clothes and spiky hair with two long tentacles, similar to an Inkling girl's hair.
"I am...the LEGENDARY SUPER INKLING!!!" shouted Kenneth. He teleported towards Red and punched her in the face. He then hit Red in the gut so hard and finished her with an uppercut, causing Red to bleed red ink and almost die. "I'll be back...just you wait!" said Red as she walked away back to her HQ.
All the Inkling cheered for Kenneth, who went back into his normal Inkling form. "My hero!" said a female Inkling named Kayla. "What's wrong Kenneth?" asked Kyle, one of Kenneth's other friends. "Stan's dead and there's nothing we can do about it. I must find Red and kill her so she won't kill anyone else," said Kenneth. "Don't forget about the Kraken Balls," said Kyle. "Once I kill Red, avenge Stan's death and wish him back with the Kraken Balls, there will be peace forever!" said Kenneth.
One week later, the surviving Octolings planned their next attack on Inkopolis. "I finally found the Kraken Radar," said Red. "Our mission is simple: invade Inkopolis, kidnap the Squid Sisters, find the Kraken Balls and wish to overpower that Super Inkling! That way, no one will be able to stop us!" Meanwhile, Kenneth and Kyle were training together to become stronger in case there was another Octoling attack.
The monitors in the city changed to Inkopolis' daily news report from Callie and Marie, who were known together as the Squid Sisters. "We would like to congratulate Kenneth, the 'Legendary Super Inkling', for saving the city from the Octoling army!" said Callie. Every Inkling cheered for Kenneth at that moment. "Don't forget to buy our new CD at the shop," said Marie. "Stay fresh!" said Callie and Marie as the reports ended.
"Wow, you're famous around here," said Kyle. "Yeah, i'm more popular than Callie or Marie now," said Kenneth, who was still trying to get over Stan's death. A few seconds later, the sky turned dark green. "Is an Inkling far away just summoning the Kraken God?" asked an Inkling boy. "Shit! It's the Octolings! They must've found the Kraken Balls," said Kenneth. "What is your wish?" asked the Kraken God. "I wish to be the strongest being in the universe!" said Red. Kenneth heard Red's voice echo throughout the city. "Looks like i'm not going to win this time," said Kenneth. The Kraken God's eyes glowed, giving Red limitless power. "I bid you farewell," said the Kraken God as the Kraken Balls separated.
Kenneth heard an evil laughter that was getting closer. Red had landed in Inkopolis and walked toward Kenneth. "You Kenneth, I chose you to be the first of my victims!" said Red. "Think you can beat me? Think again!" said Kenneth. "ARRRRRGH!!!" Kenneth powered up to his Super Inkling form and prepared to fight Red. She flew towards Kenneth, grabbing him and throwing him at a moving train. Kenneth was now hanging on the end with his hands getting tired every second. Red put her foot on one of Kenneth's hands, weakening his hand even more.
"You really think you're strong enough to beat me?" asked Red as she put more pressure on Kenneth's hand. "Can't...hold...on...much...longer!" shouted Kenneth. Kyle tried to keep up with the train by running as fast as he could. "Don't worry Kenneth! I'll save you!" shouted Kyle. Red pulled out a water gun and attempted to shoot Kyle, but he dodged the ink before it could hit him. "Shit! Now i'm all out of ink!" said Red. She threw the water gun at Kyle, but he grabbed it and throw the gun back at Red, hitting her in the head. Red stopped stepping on Kenneth, causing him to fall. "No, this can't be the end!" said Kenneth. He knew how to fly, but he was too weak to do so. Kyle caught Kenneth in his arms and fed him some calamari, which is the Inkling's favorite food.
"Go get her, Kenneth! You're our only hope!" said Kyle. Kenneth started flying again and he saw Red grab Callie, who was trying to run from Red. "Someone help me!" shouted Callie. "I won't let anyone else die today!" said Kenneth. He kept up with Red and tried to punch her, but he was afraid that he would accidently punch Callie instead. Red fired a blast of ink from her palm but Kenneth teleported behind Red, performing a one-inch punch on Red. This caused her to drop Callie and she fell into Marie's arms.
Kenneth kept teleporting and sneaking attacks to hopefully defeat Red. He even used one of his tentacles to slap Red in the face a few times. Kenneth temporarily lost the ability to teleport and he was knocked down to the ground by one of Red's powerful punches.
Kenneth stood up and put his hands up to sky. "People of Inkopolis, lend me your energy!!" shouted Kenneth. Every Inkling put their hands up to the sky to create a massive Spirit Bomb of ink. Red and Kenneth took to the skies. "DISAPPEAR FOR GOOD!" shouted Kenneth. He threw the Spirit Bomb directly at Red. She tried to send it back to Kenneth, but he powered up and forced it towards Red. "EVERYONE, GET OUT OF THE WAY!" shouted Kenneth. Red started to break apart due to the Spirit Bomb's strength. "No...this can't be happening...DAMN YOU!!!" shouted Red as she was consumed by the Spirit Bomb.
The surviving Octolings tried to retreat back to their HQ, but they were stopped by Kenneth. "You're not going anywhere," said Kenneth. He put his hands together, once again forming a bright ball of ink. "KAMEHAMEHA!!!" shouted Kenneth. He released the blast from his hands, splatting the rest of the Octolings and destroying their HQ by reducing it to rubble.
All of the Inklings cheered for Kenneth, who had just saved Inkopolis from being taken over. Kenneth saw the Kraken Balls in front of him, which were carried by one of Red's minions. After summoning the Kraken God, Kenneth wished back Stan. A light shined down from the heavens and Stan was back on Earth, alive and well as if nothing happened. "Stan, you're alive!" said Kenneth. "Thanks for wishing me back. You're the best," said Stan. They gave each other high-fives.
"Thank you for saving my life, Kenneth," said Callie. She and Kenneth kissed and hugged each other while Callie wrapped her long tentacles around Kenneth. "Awwwww," all of the Inklings said. Kenneth continued to train each and every day, hoping that there would be no more evil in this new generation.
